Legacy 6.0 is a full-featured professional genealogy program that helps you track, organize, print, and share your family history. The program is free and has no restrictions. (A Deluxe Edition is also available.) The user interface is easy-to-use and is always intuitive. Entering data on individuals is easy; simply fill in the blanks. The individual input form includes room for vital information plus an unlimited number of events, notes, and pictures. It is easy to navigate through all your family links using the Family View and Pedigree View screens, and the program can use this information to create literally dozens of reports. These include the typical ancestor and descendant charts as well as relationship diagrams, timelines, surname summaries, census forms, and family history books (complete with tables of contents and indexes). Most reports have the option to include photographs. The To Do List makes it easy to track research and other tasks that need to be done. Links to the Internet let you quickly search for anyone in your family file among billions of names. Legacy's merge capabilities are second-to-none among genealogy programs. The IntelliShare feature makes it easy for groups of two or more people to coordinate their works and stay caught up on each other's changes. Legacy offers extensive multimedia support including pictures, sound clips, and videos. These can be displayed individually, in slide shows or even screen savers. The program imports and exports standard GEDCOM files as well as directly reads PAF files. You can customize nearly everything in Legacy. Other features include Search and Replace, Spell Checking of all notes, extensive Source Documentation features, Repositories, Relationship Calculation, Web Page Creation in a variety of formats, Name Tags with pictures and 3-generation pedigree charts, and much more. You can even open two different files and drag-and-drop entire lines from one to the other.

Now I would like to say that I have bought Legacy and it is very easy to use , I read the comments that others have posted regarding Legacy Family tree software and every post that I have read speaks highly of the software .I want to also add that I have also been given as a gift the software Personal Historian, this is great also if you are like me and like to add stories into your genealogy.You can import gedcoms from Legacy into your Personal Historian ,I tried it, it was quite easy to do. They have videos you can watch for both Legacy and Personal Historian so I would like to recomment these two softwares to you.I hope you will at least check them out,I am sure you will enjoy what you see.
